Tanisi/Tawâw! ~ Hello/Welcome! I’m Lisa. Here is a little about me…

I am Cree/Scottish Metis from Territory Six, Saskatchewan, Canada. I am honoured to be known as a wife, mother, and grandmother. My education includes Certified Integrative Somatic Practitioner, Recovery Coach, Practical Herbalist, and Registered Nurse.

When not enjoying time with my beloved family or at work, you can find me taking care of my medicine garden, creating teas and other herbal products, or spending time in nature by the lake.

I strongly believe in the power of community to promote health and wellness. I show my support by attending and participating in community events that focus on mental health, addiction, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls, 2-Spirit (MMIWG2S), and Every Child Matters. I am a proud advocate for Truth and Reconciliation and am currently collaborating with health organizations to address the calls to action, particularly in nursing and healthcare systems.

One of my current passions involves actively engaging in the revitalization of my Cree language. Despite its decline within my family and my ongoing efforts to achieve fluency, I remain dedicated to this journey. The profound significance and cultural value of the language drive me to take constructive steps to ensure its preservation and continued vitality.

Throughout my life, I have encountered moments of triumph, periods of struggle, and pivotal life-changing events that have shaped me into who I am today. My lived experiences are my most valuable asset; they are all a powerful source of inspiration for creating Earthwise Integrative Wellness. I started my journey in 2021 and soon discovered how difficult it was to navigate the health system and the limitations of accessibility and affordability I was faced with.  This motivated me both personally and professionally to be the change I wanted to see.

I began my journey toward healing by embracing traditional Western healing modalities, but I found that my experience lacked a sense of true connection. It wasn't until I delved into the realm of Indigenous healing practices and ceremonies that I began to experience a profound sense of healing. My pursuit led me to seek wisdom from Indigenous Community support groups, Elders, and Knowledge Keepers, who generously shared their insights and knowledge. Through their guidance, I adopted the Medicine Wheel as a guiding force in my healing journey, embracing its symbolism of interconnectedness and balance.

My approach to healing has always been wholistic, emphasizing the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. This whole-person approach has shaped my mission to assist others in uncovering the root causes of their ailments and addressing areas where they may feel disconnected and stagnant, rather than simply treating symptoms. I am deeply committed to empowering individuals to tap into their innate capacity for meaningful change.

In my work, I guide individuals to explore their existing mindsets, lifestyles, and the environmental and relational dimensions that have shaped their lives. By delving into these aspects, I strive to support individuals in overcoming perceived obstacles to their well-being. My ultimate goal is to inspire others to reconnect with their authentic selves and align with their true life purpose.

The creation of this website is driven by my desire to share how integrative wellness and cultural practices have profoundly impacted my personal journey and how they hold the potential to enrich the lives of others, seeking a fulfilling and balanced existence.
